1. Tell us something about yourself...
Hi everyone who’s reading this interview,
I am Cristy Browne and I live in Rotterdam,
The Netherlands. I love this city, but when I first moved
here I had to get accustomed to this ‘metropolitan’ city.
I am 27 years old and next year I hope to start Applied Psychology to become a social worker. I love this field, because people’s experiences in life inspire me. Everyone has a story and all these stories are intriguing to me. In life we all experience difficulties and we must go through them to learn from them. This is how we grow and become a better form of ourselves. Adversity is not only for your own personal growth, but it is also to help others. Last year I’ve been through a big life change myself. This gave me the power to believe that everything is possible if you make it your main goal. I want to become a social worker so I can help people overcome difficulties in life. My personality describes itself as kind, friendly and believe it or not, very shy. I am an introvert, I think and reflect a lot. When I want to do something, I must think about it a thousand times before I can actually do it. Believe me it is not always fun! I see this as a challenge to get out of my comfort zone. I also have a fun side, but I only show this side to very close friends and family. Oh, I'm also a dreamer.

2. What inspires you?
People inspire me and I'm intrigued by the way people think and behave. This inspiration has evolved into having a passion for psychology. I think it is interesting to see how different we are in our way of thinking and how we reflect that in our behavior. The way the brain works is so fascinating and there is still a lot that has to be discovered about it. The mystery has yet not been solved! In my life I have met many inspiring people, most of them friends and family. Everybody has their own struggles and seeing them smiling at the end of the day, never giving up is what inspires me! In one word: Empowerment! I also like music, movies and books with an inspiring message. One movie that I particularly love is The Lion King. I first saw it when I was about 10 years old. This may sound childish, but I don't care! You see the main character in the movie gets hurt and doesn’t face reality. Instead he runs away from his problems, which is very interesting, but in the end he fights back and
conquers his fears! Yeah!!

3. How does fashion inspire you?
Fashion inspires me when I see people wear it. Rotterdam is a cosmopolitan city with different people and cultures mixed up all together. I get inspired by the street style in my city and I transform it to fit my own body and personality. With my own style I also inspire the people around me. My sister tells me that I have good taste in fashion and always asks me for advice on what to wear. This is what I love about fashion, the way it connects us all. Recently I have gone through a big change in my life by living a healthier lifestyle. I have lost a lot of weight and I am so proud of myself for achieving this goal. With this new lifestyle came a wardrobe change and thanks to the people around me, I had no problem creating my new style! So fashion inspires me in two ways, first the street style I see around that I translate in to my own personal taste. Second, the way I can help others by being
an inspiration to them.

4. Can you describe your style?
I have two different styles, one darker side and one colorful side. I like wearing darker clothes that have a rough edge to it, the urban or alternative look. My colorful side is more about bright colors, the sophisticated (classy) look. These two sides of my style also fit my personality. I can be a shy bubbly person (colorful style) but I can also be a much more quiet reserved person (darker style). The reason why I like wearing darker colors is because I love to be reserved and not be noticed much. But trust me, I do have days when I shine bright like a diamond! So depending on my mood
I decide what to wear.

5. My 'Get Inspired' quote is...
I have two quotes that really inspire me and I'd love to share them with you! “In a world where you can be anything, be yourself.” And: “We have two hands, one for helping yourself and the other for helping others.”
